Emma Rosen on taking a radical sabbatical. Emma did what many of us twenty somethings do, finished school, went to university, graduated and got a job – not just any job but a stable and renowned civil servant job. A job she always wanted until she didn’t. So just before she turned 25 years old she quit her job and launched her passion project 25before25 – where she spent an entire year trying out 25 different jobs. This led her to publish her own book radical sabbatical, become a renowned speaker including talk at ted X and has a so called portfolio career. I stumbled across Emma in a classical millennial way, read her book and knew I wanted to have her on the podcast.
Listen in to hear about:
- what it’s like to struggle in a job you thought would set you up for life
- why it’s okay and even necessary to try out jobs before you find the ‚one’
- how you can take a radical sabbatical
