How to choose your perfect home? Did you know your home and surroundings can have a significant effect on your mood and mental health? Well, I kinda did, but just how important it was I only found out when I finally moved into my perfect home.
A study from Ohio State University and the National Institute of Mental Health showed white-collar workers in an old office building — with low ceilings and loud air conditioners — were significantly more stressed than those in a newer space with skylights and open cubicles. A separate study also showed that wall color can affect performance: red enhances skills related to accuracy, while blue walls encourage creativity.
I’ve found that things like location (and I’m not just talking the hippest part of town) and having a light space can also leave you with an incredibly high quality of life.
